My dog just will not pee on paper. She's 2 months old and i;ve tried everything to get her to pee on paper i even bout these pads that puppies pee on but she just rips them up. Ive made her stay on one for about half hour until eventually she pee'd and i done this several times and i praised her everytime but she still isn't getting it. Unless i'm holding her on the newspaper she walks straight off the paper and pee's on the floor. She seems to pee 20 times more than all other dogs too and i cut down her water but she still pee's. I've tried shouting at her as soon as she goes to pee on the floor but she pee's a gallon in a second, nothing works. She poo's anywhere too and my mums threatening to put her out the back garden if i can't train her. Help :(

She is only 8 weeks old!?

Please don't cut down on her water, this will just dehydrate her and make her more likely to get things like cystitis which will make her want to pee more, plus it will be more concentrated and will smell more.

Try and take her out everytime she wakes up etc.

Give her time, she will grow out of this soon, she is still only a baby and will not have full control yet. How long have you had her?

When she pees where you want give her lots and lots of praise (really go over the top!).

Ive had her since she was born, as well as her brother and sisters and i managed to train them before they went but she just never got it. I take her outside 100 times a day and she wont go to the toilet until she gets back in. I will keep trying tho and i haven't starved her she does get plenty of water but she tends not to stop when she has water, she drinks it until she's burping and that's why i cut down her water because on a recent show about dogs they was saying how small a dogs bladder is and they only need a small amount.
A dog will pee after waking up, after play etc you need to stay outside as long for as it takes for her to do her business and as soon as she does you make the biggest fuss ever, she will soon learn.

Have you tried this;
When she pees on the floor, soak some of her urine onto newspaper or even better a puppy toilet pad, just a little so it gets her smell on it, and then show it to her, then hopefully she should pee on this the next time, when it becomes too wet just repeat the soacking up procedure again.
Shouting at her will only frighten her and make her wee more in fear, she is still a baby and does not realise what she is doing wrong...she needs lots and lots of praise and cuddles.
Give her another few months yet...good luck
you could try buying simple solution puppy training pads. They have a smell on them that attract the dogs to them. They are quite expensive, but once the dog knows where to go they are fantastic. Mine used them from about day four at 9 weeks old
