harrasment
I rent a flat out through a letting agent, last week i had a phone call from a man demanding a sum of money for an unpaid bill, concerning the flat he was very threating, i was taken aback and tried to explain that i knew nothing of the bill and to get in touch with the letting agent,he said he couldnt and constantly demanded i pay the bill.i got in touch with the letting agent, who found out it was a debt collector for british gas, every day i have had threatnig phone calls from different men, today they wanted my credit card number, british gas have admitted it was a mistake, and it will take a few weeks to sort it out in the meantime i may get more of these phone calls.i am so stressed out they wont speak to my husband, because the flat is in my name, now i am paranoid every time the phone rings, please if you can, i would be grateful for advice

I would have thought they would only come after you if the account was in your name. If BG have admitted the mistake, hopefully you would have taken the persons name or some reference so if you get any more hassle you can refer it. I can't understand why they would come after you if the account was in the tennant's name.
