It is rumoured that some butchers are now farmimg them and selling them off as wild. Be careful when you buy one. It should have the Cross Saltire stamped on it as an authentic wild haggis. They don't make good pets & you need to serve an apprenticeship to learn the art of haggis trap making. If you are really lucky you can get hold of a left handed one, they taste much better.
Slaint!
How to catch a Haggis..... Make up 3lb of porridge oats with plenty of salt. Sing roaming in the gloaming, while doing the highland fling. This will get him totally confused and when he comes for the porridge chuck a kilt over his head.Bash him over the head with a claymore,he is now ready for the pot.
Someone in our street bought a pair to breed from a few years ago, they escaped after a few days and were never seen again. The owner said they bite like crazy, and would never try again. I've eaten one, but it was minced, so I don't know what they look like in their live state. Good luck anyway.
(PS If the Ed is still a yank, a f4ggot is not a derogatory term for a homosexual, it is a small animal that makes a meatball like existence, so there!)
the timerous beasty is a cunning wee thing

Pmsl the paint,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, me thinks, like soul peas in a pod, we have prattled on long enough and the bell has been truly rung on this, a most indiginous scottish mystery. Alas, i feel no closer to thr truth than when i started, but i know stuff about leprechauns that would freak you out.
if you catch the haggis ,, dont whatever you do bring it home ,, it will eat your first born child , rip your arm off and beat you with the wet end.

try a lasso, but you'll have to be quick !! they're a bit like a galah - you boil a galah and a stone together, when cooked throw away the galah and eat the stone !! good luck.
