Is mozilla thunderbird any good? and can i copy all my e-mail accounts over to it without having to set them all up again?

I second Ethel. I use it for my email, and it's great.

Perhaps the best feature it has is its junk mail filter. It's a bayesian filter, which means that it learns as you report email as being junk. Once you've trained it for a bit, it'll be very good at detecting which stuff you want in your inbox, and which stuff you want in your junk folder.
