I have got the samsung e900 for my g/f for Christmas. I have recently heard that it will not play mp3s as a message alert.

Is it possible for me to convert an mp3 to a particular type of file so that when it is put on her phone, the software will let it be used as a message alert?

depends whattype of file it uses, find out and let me know then Ill tell u

I think it plays .mmf files for ringtones. Also possibly midi files. I would be able to convert to these type ok, I just wondered if it will then accept them as message alerts.
