Getting the blame
5 Answers
I'm female and have a close friend who is a guy. We almost got together a few months ago but he has a girlfriend and it never went anywhere. However he told her that we were good mates and she went mental. She wont even allow us to talk anymore. Shes at uni but back for xmas from today and he said in January, when she goes back he will tell her we are still friends & that I have a boyfriend (which I do) so she has no worries.
2 days ago he got a phone call from some guy saying that his girlfriend had slept with him to get back at my friend for cheating on her (with me - which never happend) and she's then told the guy she'd slept with's girlfriend and got really clingy, hence the reason I guess that this guy is telling my friend because he said he wants nothing to do with her.
He questioned his girlfriend who denied it and now he's blaming me, saying I must be behind it trying to split them up. He's a good friend normally but I don't see why I'm getting the blame. I don't want to fall out with him and I don't know what to do.

You can try but it just doesnt seem to work out, as soon as they get a girlfriend they have to drop you. Sounds like far too much hasle to me, I would just walk away. If he comes crawling back after xmas, tell him hes got to sort stuff out with his girlfriend, dont let him use you as substitute company till she gets back again.
It's not like that. I've got more guy friends than girl friends and he's got several girl friends too. I don't have that sort of feelings for him anymore and he doesn't for me but he is a close friend. We've been friends for ages. I'm not trying to get involved in their relationship. I don't like even discussing it with him but I also don't want to get the blame for something I haven't done. I hate people thinking it was me.
