We kind of go a bit mad for it up here in bonnie scottyland...it usually ends up being a big group of us getting together, going out for dinner and a few drinks then having a big soiree at mine until ridiculous o'clock the next day. I dont mind it as i love any excuse for a party but i much prefer Christmas!!!

I despise it. Why would I want to do the following:
Go into town, queue to get into a pub, subsequently PAY to get in, fight through all the kids and once-a-year- drinkers who are five deep at the bar ordering their WKD's, have to order 2 pints at each opportunity because it's easier than constantly returning to the bar, wait for midnight when someone who I've never seen before with 3 days of stubble will kiss me on the cheek (even though I'm a bloke!) and tell me I'm his best mate.
Once the 'festivities' end I would then have to join another queue for a 2 hour wait for a taxi whilst those in the queue fight, vomit, argue and bicker over who is next. Having finally got a taxi, I'd have to pay triple fare because it's New Year. Having eventually got home I would be greeted by the noise of fireworks still being lit at 3 a.m! WHY?
Oh yeah, I loooooooove New Years Eve!
