Freshening up books
3 Answers
I have bought some old books (50+ years old) which have that musty old-book smell. Any ideas about how I can treat them?

Every time I now open the wardrobe a delightful waft of lavender fragrance comes out, so I wonder if you put your books in a sealed black polythene bag for a week or so with one of these lavender moth fragrance discs, they would get rid of the musty smell?. I think you can also buy anti moth treatments with a lemon fragrance too - so much better than the original moth ball smell ! Unfortunately it's not the best time of year to put them outside in the garden for a good dose of fresh air, which might have a similar cleansing effect.
