Bleeding radiators...
4 Answers
I had a new CH system installed about September this year.
I've had to bleed the radiators of hydrogen(?) twice already and have noticed the water is partly blackened. As these are two signs of corrosion, why would this be hapeening so early - can't be right..?

As I dont know the type of system you have someone else will have to advise - there are a few helpful soulds on this website such as Gasman, Buildersmate to name but a few, maybe they can advise.

You are right this should not be happening at all in such a young system. So i would have said that your installer has neglected to put any corrosion inhibitor in it at all. You can buy a kit from the plumbers merchants to check the strength and concentrate of inhibitor installed and if you find that it has none or not enough in it, then phone the fitters back and demand they cleans the system and install an appropriate dose of corrosion inhibitor. As it is a requirement of the bench mark and building regs part L for this to have been done . Also it could invalidate any waranties on the system if it has not been done. Not to mention the problems and expense you will incure in a couple of years time when all the major parts start to break down, plus the cost of flood damage should you spring a leak !!!
