Does anyone know how to remove motor oil from a wool carpet without professional cleaning? My niece came to visit the other day and had oil on her shoes, which unfotuntely left a trail on my Mothers very new carpet!!

You could try wd 40. It got oil off a wool cardigan for me. Spray the stain, dab from the outside towards the middle, finish with a bit of carpet shampoo.
