02 corsa easytronic, does not always drive when A or R selected and a F flashes on the dash, any ideas on what might be the fault. Also engine does not always start when brake pedal is pressed

Thanks for the response. yes all the brake lights work.

I've also notice a clicking noise from under the bonnet when the ignition light is on (engine not running)
I think the problem is some form of sensor or actuator gone faulty rather than a total gear box failure, any ideas

sounds like there is a fault with the transmission ecu. will need to go to main dealers for diagnostics.
