Cleaning a mattress
2 Answers
I hope someone in AB land can help me.
Last night my 10 year old daughter had a sleepover, they stayed up all night!!
This meant that at 7.30am this morning they all fell asleep.
The problem is that my daughter was holding a glass of orange juice at the time and this has now been spilt onto a mattress.
Does anyone the best way to clean it.
Any help gratefully recieved x

If modest quantity much of which was soaked up by bedclothes and it is near an edge, then tip the matress up on its edge and spray with water (pump action bottle is ideal). Once well soaked locally, use a towel to dab/press and collect the juice. Repeat several times. If the mattress is not a spring type (e.g. foam) then take it to a garden hose point and drench while it is in a position whereby the area drains down. Obviously, the mattress will not be usable until it is dry again. Finally, teach daughter not to carry food or drink into bed.
KARL, thanks for the advice about the mattress.
as for the comment about teaching my daughter not to carry food or drink into bed - it was a sleepover - mattresses on living room floor, popcorn, movies ect. she was not 'carrying' anything, she was absolutely knackered, asked for a drink then 5 minutes later she was asleep. something that has never happened before and in all likelyhood will never happen again.
Sorry if I sound like I'm having a rant but I didn't get much sleep either!
