I'm fairly new to a job I know little about. In short, we have distributors selling our product (AV cables) Internationally. There is only my boss and I in the international department and he is also fairly new to the company although has been in the industry a long time. I want to try and impress him a bit and make some head way by highlighting the countries where we do not currently have distribution however I don't really know how to research the market needs in each country. I mean, there is no point in saying we don't supply to anyone in Jamaica when there is little requirement for av cable there. Does anyone have any ideas of how I could research the AV industry in other countries to try and make some basis for suggestion to my boss?

Who are your competitors? Research who they are, look at their web pages and see if you can find out what countries they export to. Who are your largest customers, what countries are they in and what do they do with them - do they re-sale?
