peugot diesel running problem.

A friend has a peugot 207 diesel that when it reaches approx 2000rpm the engine starts to judder but when you accelarte past 2200rpm the juddering dissapears - anyone know what is the problem may be ? - someone has told him it could be something to do with the fuel pump electrics - any ideas ?

could be lots of things, and i am not familiar with this model but i had this on my polo diesel and it turned out to be a faulty engine mount, and loose baffle in the exhaust front pipe. if it is an engine fault it will lack power when it judders.........mine didn;t but was rough and abit more noisy

Should have said the engine judder is like jabbing the accelerator on/off very quickly.
if this is a 2 litre hdi engine we come across problems with the dual mass clutches and crankshaft pulleys which cause engine vibration.
