Do people think it's ok as it is or that there could be improvements made eg sections designed for the more serious sections and one for the more general, casual, jokey, chatty threads?

Would this help distinguish serious threads get more attention and stop them from disintegrating and helping pinpoint troublemakers?

Would a more chatty section descend to the problems I've heard were encountered with Chatterbank? Should it be a (dare I say it) subsection or a distinct topic?

Are people more comfortable with the subsections now that they've been here a while?

Just interested in how different people seethe section and how it could be improved.

Chatterbank was great. It was pulled down not by trolls or imps or scamps, but by moaners who couldn't see how to laugh.

The same happens now. All I can say is, hang on to greenies and appreciate your National Scamps. It beats "what did you have for breakfast today" and she said and I said and then she said and it's all disgusting and should be banned she said and so it was banned and then I got bored.

Although i'm quite new here, a friend told me about this site ages ago. They often spoke of chatterbank, and i was surprised to find it wasn't here when i joined.

Surely an area with that much traffic was good for this site. The advertising revenue generated from that sort of traffic would be good for a site like this?

Perhaps the new AB ed has a better business mind than the last? Keep Body and Soul free for those questions that need a respectful answer. And create a new better regulated version of chatterbank for site revenue.

I've never been in business, but that makes sense to me.

Hi Jenna - well thought out question.

I have to say, I hardly venture into half the categories as it is, let alone the sub-cat's, as I just don't have the time.

ChatterBank started off okay, but soon descended into chaos & took a lot of the, then, Ed's time up monitoring it, so it was best it went!

Having said that, it's a shame B&S seems to have taken its place, changing it from the more interesting category it once was.

Really not wanting to blow my own trumpet (as one or two would love to put it), but I recently suggested a General Greetings topic to cover Birthdays, etc., which has been granted, for now anyway, but named Seasonal. I thought perhaps, it would keep all the Greetings, etc., together under one roof, rather than in Suggestions & B&S.

You could chat about most things within reason, but unfortunately, some very immature, silly people, couldn't resist spoiling it for the others & it was no more!

I adored CB, but even I can see how crap and downright nasty it got near the end and why it had to go :-(

Call a 'general' category any name you like but it will turn into what CB became and believe me it really did go pear shaped quickly.
