Can I not say they are not good footballers or cricketers or enternainers,or am I not allowed to have an opinion. My opinion of Americans and a lot of Britons is they don't have a sense of humour. I am not going to get involved in any silly racist debate because I love Americans and Britons who I have worked with for years. Think you need to lighten up a little as it was only a meant as a light-hearted remark on what is supposed to be a fun website. If this is going to happen every time I reply and someone does not agree with me I think it is time I cancelled my subscription to what I thought was a good website, not a one that is riddled with silly politics about the nature of answers. I am not a racist and never will be,so I am quitting this Site after many years if this is the sort of thing that goes on.
its like how far do we go? when we go to our local indian restaurant do we ask for a popadom or a over sized crisp like thing? when we go to mcdonalds do we ask for a burger in a bun or a mashed up cow in a bun? I dont know its really scary isnt it. Im not a racist,my son plays with 3 somalian children at school, which Im fine with(I do draw the line at them coming to tea, dont want to go that far). Oh this debate will run and run im sure
This racially prejudiced thing is beginning to **** me off, what are we allowed to say that doesn't cause offence.
People need to lighten up because "reality check" how long will it be until British Citizen is classed as offensive? You either accept it or not Racism is happening everywhere and silly nit picking like this will never rid of it
Just for the record.
The word Indian is offensive apparently, so we can no longer call it the Indian Restaurant, the correct etiquette is for you to call it by its name. I.e. Planet Popadom, (Wonder if this restaurant realises its being racist) http://www.indiandinner.com/result.asp
As I have said many times the world has gone mad

I am part of a *multicultural* family..Irish, Scots, Welsh, Dutch, Armenian, Iranian (the last two by marriage) and we were brought up telling/laughing at English/Irish/Scotsman jokes ~ and the Iranian, Armenian, Welsh & Dutch haven't got off lightly either. Neither have the English sector of the family, for that matter ;o)

Pippa, well said,,,, The British like nothing more than a good pi55 take , we all joke about one another and squabble and fight in peace time but during conflict it's all for one and one for all and we invaribly win, it's how we are and it's the way i want it to stay. If people from outside want to come in, they have to abide by our ways and if they don't like it,,, France is nice this time of year.
Cleo was flirting with Dirk in a very over the top,toe-curlingly cringemaking way. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say it was sexual harrassment - he asked her quietly and seriously, several times to stop and she did not. He was embarassed and uncomfortable by her behaviour.
If the roles were reversed there would have been such an uproar.
