scream baby
My daughter is 11 months old she screams every time she doesn't get her way. If she is not picked up she will throw her self back hitting her self very hard on the floor, continue to scream till she is picked up. She never really cries she just screams. I don't know what to do?

When she is good praise her and show her lots of attention so she see's that she doesnt need to scream to get your attention. Also when your busy doing stuff and she wants to be picked up try and distract her by getting her involved in what your doing or if thats not possible get herinvolved with her toys.
Whenever i was busy doing housework etc I would have 2 boxes of toys which i kept just for these times, I would get one out and then get on with my things usually my son would prefer to play with these 'new' toys rather than follow me about.
I think most of all you have just got to stand your ground if your busy then just get on with it as long as she is safe then leave her to it

I agree, the best thing to try and do is to ignore as much of that behaviour as possible. Bloody hard, i know, but she is reacting to attention.
How mobile is your ikkle one? Would she not be able to crawl after you if you needed to move to another part of the room? If so, encourage her to try this and keep talking to her all the time about what your doing - it gets boring but it is effective. Not only does it prevent the tantrums, but it develops her vocab to boot!
Try singing a song that you can sing while your out of the room so that she can always hear you. Play a game where you call her and if she responds (in her own way - giggles, bables, single words etc) then you respond back.
Whatever you do and whatever works for you both, remember to priase her when she doesnt have a paddy.
Good luck

My daughter is also 11 months old and has a similar problem! She has a tantrum at least once a day - lays on her tummy kicking her legs and screaming - and I now ignore her. I've realised it's because she's frustrated as she sooooooooooooo wants to walk but can't quite manage it!! She now stops after about 30 seconds and carries on with what she was doing. So maybe it's just a phase?
