Does anyone know exactly what the Bridegroom pays for at his Wedding ? As the brides parents we are paying for the dress. the Bridesmaid's dress, the invitations, the cake , photographer, Church flowers.the reception. evening ' Do ' ,wine & champagne. But someone has told us that the Bridegroom should foot the bill for the drink by tradition. Is this correct ?
Our daughter is getting married in May manealca. We paid for her dress, the bridesmaid's dress's etc.,the cake, church, reception and photographer. Our future son in law has paid for the hiring of morning suit's for himself, the 2 Dad's,2 best men and my son who's the ring bearer. His parent's are paying for the drink's and hire of wedding cars.
Gosh they are so lucky - I didn't think that happened today. Me and my partner are getting married in June and have paid 90% of it ourselves. My Dad is buying my dress and my mum is buying the cake and his parents are paying for the flowers. Everything else, we have paid for. I am not sure I agree with the brides parents paying for nearly everything nowadays but I suppose if thats what you want to do then fine...they are very lucky.
I think brides parents paying is the modern equivilant of a dowrie (forgive the spelling) My hubby and i lived together first so we paid for our own wedding. I have to say I think people pay too much money out for just 1 day out of their lives. Its the people not the do that matters. Ours came in at 1500 and i thought that was expensive.
