Post again and tell us whether you're seeking a UK or overseas holiday.
Also (assuming that you want to go abroad) let us know which airports are convenient for you. (It's absolutely pointless someone posting loads of suggestion based upon cheap flights from Stansted if you're in Aberdeen).
Lastly, please tell us what your definition of a 'nice' holiday is. Do you want night clubs pulsing with life or would you rather have wonderful museums and art galleries? How important to you is it that your destination can offer plenty of sunshine? Do you want a holiday suitable for a large group or will you be travelling on your own? Are you particularly seeking sea and sand or would you be interested in a city break?
You provide the information and we'll provide some answers ;-)

Well, if I was planning a cheap holiday at the minute, I'd be considering Riga. I've just checked a few prices for a one week visit in May, based upon 2 people sharing:
Flights from Stansted (with Ryanair, including taxes and charges): 64 return, each
Transfers from airport: About 50p (return!) each by bus. About 8 each (return), by taxi.
Accommodation: 52 each in a multi-bedded mixed dorm in a hostel or 144 per person in a twin-bedded room, with en suite facilities, in a hotel.
Total cost (excluding meals and excursions) = between 117 and 216 per person, depending upon your choice of accommodation and transfers.
Riga is attractive and, importantly, very cheap:

Thanks for your reply. I found those cheap prices for accommodation here:
http://www.hostelworld.com/
As the name implies, the default option for that site is to search for hostels but, if you use the 'Additional Search Options', you can search for budget hotels and guest houses.
