It's one of the most covered songs in the history of modern music.
The garage-defining 'Louie Louie' was recorded The Kingsmen in 1963. As a result of muffled vocals, bad mixing, and general hangovers, the words are uniltelligible, but for some reason, word got out that the lyrics were obscene, and the record was banned from most radio stations. In fact, the lyrics arfe perfectly innocent, a sailor's lament to a barman, Louie, about his girl across the sea. An 'adult' lyric surfaced later, but that was as a result of the ban, not the other way round. the Kingsmen never had another hit, but the grugy lo-fi noise they made led to the genre known as 'garage rock' an inspiration to this day.
