I was just wondering if anybody could tell me about the paris metro. How much of Paris it serves and how reliable it is.

Its far more reliable than the London Underground.

the website of RATP, the paris transport authority, is at http://www.ratp.info/informer/anglais/index.ph p
as well as the metro, there's the RER system, whose coverage reaches out into the suburbs.
