This is a rewrite with added info:- Price quoted for lenses only, specification as follows, variofocals, thin plastic lenses harding coat. goods �97.72, dispensing �251.28, is this a rip-off.

Not sure but I had this quote this week
Nixon basix varifocals �175 with scratch resistant and anti reflection. Transitions �60. Total �235. This doesn't include frames. Perhaps you can work it out if yours is a rip off. Mine was with Dolland and Aitchison

I think that, strictly speaking, it is a rip-off because of the HUGE mark-up applied to these things. Hopefully, another ABer will indicate what this mark-up is.

However, as all suppliers do the same thing, you have to pay through the nose.
