You can get cold glues (PVA etc), hot-melt glues (as used in glue guns) or solvent based (impact adhesives etc). There are other types of glue, for instance you can get glues made from milk, but too many to list here.
Some are made from animals (hooves etc), some from trees (latex based glues and resins) and some are chemically manufactured.
