Problems with IE6

I am running XP Home, with SP2 on IE6, and recently bought and installed Easy Mail. Everything is working correctly with one exception:- When I access the Help menu a box appears with title Microsoft Internet Explorer and the message "Your security settings prevent ActiveX controls on this page and, as a result, the page may not display properly." I tick OK, the box disappears and the page displays properly. This happens on each susequent selection of any article in that menu, and is of nuisance value rather than harmful. The support staff have been very helpful but are stumped, having never experienced this before. They confirmed that this program does not use ActiveX, and every possible solution, including uninstalling and reinstalling proved unsuccessful. Any advice or assistance would be much appreciated.

It sounds like a bug in IE6 in that it is incorrectly parsing the page and assuming that it needs ActiveX. You could try upgrading to IE7, though I wouldn't count on that solving the problem.

Thanks rojash - that's something to discuss with staff who have sent me another email. Given the correspondence and my own experiences, I think that IE7 would too drastic. I'll post if anything further comes to light

rojash They have sent me an installation which sets up a different way of interfacing with IE, and it has cured things. In return I have forwarded your suggestion. Many thanks for your help
