Rover 200 spares
Where can I buy a new or re-conditioned head for my 1997 Rover 200 1800 VVT engine. Can't find in NZ and want to source in UK and airfreight to NZ. Would really appreciate some kind soul's assistance.

Add that to the air freight costs (cylnder heads aren't light)and it's going to pretty expensive.
I know that cars are expensive in NZ but I'd still doubt that you'd fing in economically viable to to repair a 10 year old Rover 200 in this way unless it's of great sentimental value!
I'm guessing that the head gasket blew ( bit of a common problem on them) it overheated and the head got a bit warped?
Have you investigated whether the head can be skimmed at a local engineering shop? or is it too bad for that?

Hi thanks for that. The head had already overheated at about thirty K and had to be re-tempered. Seems this time it's too bad for that. Not surprising Rover went bust. Unless I can find some answer the car, which is otherwise in pristine condition, is a total write off. Not easy for a retiree to bear the cost.
