Anyone had a 4D scan of their baby...?

I'm probably gonna get one done on Friday at the Baby Show....but i'm quite hesitant...i find it quite scary and daunting...seeing a 4D (!?) image of the baby inside your belly on the screen!

Someone posted this site a few days ago, it looks brilliant. Hope the scan goes well.

oh my gosh...its outrageous... lol.
Nat you have GOT to do it if you get the chance! they were so expensive when i was pregnant (about 300) so i resisted. But if you can then go for it, just check your dates as there is a 'window' of time that they like to do them in.
Youll get to see her little face and get a much clearer view than your hospital scan

ps. emailed you, apologies if ive waffled

lol thanks for the email - i just replied! ;O)

Yup i get black and white pics and a DVD all for 70 - bloody bargain i must say!!
nothing scary involved im sure, keep us posted.

Is it just a coincidence that all the ads to the right are about 4D scans.....?! --------->

have they always been there?!

The bit i'm scared about crete is seeing my baby!! Not due to meet her until July!
nat, why not wait until the birth ?then you will both fall in love with each other at the same time.
Question Author
i sort of agree with you crete but i also think its an amazing thing for the child to look back on when she's older.

And i also think its an amazing thing for parents to witness their baby moving and developing inside the womb...(but thats what i also find scary - lol)

We can't book the scan because i'm only going to be 22 weeks....i'm gutted now :o(

although the lady did say we can go alogn and they might still do it for us....

Suppose i can always get one for about 95 once i'm further along.
awww Nat,

they do have places all over the country now if you wanted to get it done at a later date.
Question Author
Yeah i'll get one done in a couple of weeks if they cant do it.

I'll be so jealous watching my fellas sis have hers done though :o(
Those moving pictures do look wonderful but I wonder if there are any risks to the baby. The 4D process involves a much higher ultrasound exposure than ordinary ultrasound and I have heard of some concerns about ordinary ultrasound.

After a quick search I found http://www.aims.org.uk/Journal/Vol17No1/ultras ound.htm . It might be worth looking into this sort of thing before you go ahead.

Sorry to put a bit of a damper on all the enthusiasm!

No David its all valid information that we should be aware of - thanks.
Nat-84, regarding your question about the ads on the right: go to "History" and click on the question "British Army". Look at the ads on the right: how do they do it?
Question Author
oh clever!!

Dont think ive noticed that before...
Nat, you have to do it. We had it done at about 26 weeks and were given pictures and a DVD lasting about 30 minutes. It blows your mind. When I look at her today (10 months) I can still see the likeness from the scan, it was that clear
Question Author
wow mats! If i can get it done i probably will, and if not at the Baby Show then in a month or so when sh'es lsightly more developed!

Technology is bloody breathtaking...!! Even basic scans blow me away!
