Broadband set-up - help please!
3 Answers
Dear all
I am still using dial-up and want to get broadband. My credit approval is not great so I'm having problems signing up online. My questions is basically, once I get a package (I only want broadband, not free calls/tv etc.) agreed, will my broadband be on instantly or do I have to wait for an installation etc.? I have a BT landline so just assumed that it would be like flicking a switch so to speak. Have I got this wrong?
Any help appreciated, as I'm kinda eager to get broadbanding!! Thanks

You will need an ADSL modem, usually supplied free by the broadband supplier and instructions as to how to set it up. Depending on how far you are from your local telephone exchange and a couple of other factors, you may need an ADSL cable running from your main telephone socket to wherever you plug the computer modem in.
