Has anyone had problems with E & L dog insurance. I have waited since January for an agreed small payout to no avail. Telephoned numerous times and fobbed off with stories of delays. I am now renaming E & L, EXCUSES AND LIES

However - I would not touch E&L with a barge pole. They are the biggest bunch of fraudsters in the whole profession and will riggle out of claims at the slightest chance! I have even experienced them making up problems so as to avoid paying.
They are single handedly the hardest company to deal with.
I would not recommend ANYONE with a pet insures their animal with this company.

I use Tesco Pet insurance and they're very good. If you still don't have your cheque write and ask for a copy of their complaints procedure and follow it even to the ombudsman if necessary. Insurance companies like this rely on you not pursuing your valid claim. Last year Axa refused a claim for travel delay and I went to the ombudsman. As soon as the ombudsman wrote to them they caved and paid up (actually more than they should have done but I wasn't going to tell them that). Don't let them get away with it!
E&L are rubbish my dog was very ill and the first lot of treatment eye removal cost 1000.00 and they took three months to pay me back after ringing them every week being told that the check was in the post she then got ill again other eye but was told that she was not insured for eyes any more so had to fork out 3500.00 without money back they are a sorry excuse for caring about your pets they just want your money i am no longer with them
