I came off the birth control pill in september 06 and since then have developed spots. they are quite bad and i have never had a problem with my skin in 33 years. Is this a side effect of coming off the pill and how long will it take to clear up and my hormones to return to normal?

Which pill were you on? A lot of them have the benefit of clearing up spots - and can be prescribed just for this purpose (especially Dianette). Maybe you should have them but your pill has always cleared them up?
I was going to say the same thing as Cheekychops. I know quite a few people who were prescribed the pill for skin problems.

Since I came off the pill 8 years ago my skin has flare-ups every once in a while. I never had any problems whilst on the pill.
Agree with CheekyChops and Pippa. I came off Dianette over a year ago and my skin is now more prone to flare ups and quite oily, the doctor says this is must be it's natural condition.

no - i have never had a problem with spots ever. not even as a teenager. its totally alien to me. they are on my neck too. i have read stuff online from other women who have a similar problem but i cant seem to find any answers as to how long it might be before my hormones start to behave themselves and get back to normal!
