Sweet Red Wine???
9 Answers
I know that Red wine does not comes as sweet, medium and dry as with White wine but unfortunately, drinking anything dry or even medium gives me terrible heartburn and I have yet to find a red wine that I can drink. My partner drinks red and I'm constantly buying various types and always sample them first, in the hope of finding one I like but alas, to no avail!!! Does anyone know of a decent red, resembling sweet? Thanks for any suggestions.....

Also I have tried a Merlot Rose which is slighlty lighter than a full Red, that is very nice and White Zinfandel(Rose) as an in between Aldi do one for 2.99 and its lovely.
Thanks for all your suggestions - all duly noted and I will be investigating/supping all in due course :-)
Shazza - You have similar tastes to me - my stock drink is White Zinfandal, my particular favourites being Tescos 'Blush Zinfandel' and Blossom Hill. It's just that sometimes, I'd love to have a nice red wine to drink for a change...... I live in hope!!!

Other than Banyuls stated by Fitzer there's Maury wine from the same region;

However, can't see it being commercialised in the UK

Heathfield - looked in Tesco yesterday for Amabile but they only had Rosso..... is that the same? Where do you buy yours?
Lafrancoise, did a search for Maury and Banyuls..... phew!! Not cheap are they? I daresay you can buy cheaper versions in French hypermarkets, so I guess I'll have to wait until my next trip to France :-( I went last year and found some nice sweet white, so next time will have to search out your recommendations :-)
