ceiling fan with light

I purchased a ceiling fan and light a while ago but have never put it up as my dad says it needs another line of cable going to it, is this right not sure to believe him or if hes trying to pull the wool over my eyes not put it up

That will depend on wether or not it the extractor fan has a built in timer on it. If it does then yes it will need a permannt live installing as-well as the switched live that is allready present. But I would strongley recommend you employ the services of a professional as bathrooms come under part P of the wiring regs and have to be certified ...

Well in that case you have everything allready in place and no extra wiring is required :o)
