I've just found a really badly tea stained cup - its disgusting, all needs scraped off! But i was wondering if there is anything i could soak it in to make it come off easier? I dont have a dishwasher and already tried fairy liquid and hot water

Thanks, i have some tesco value denture cleaners which i use on my sink, i'll try that!
You can make a paste of bicarbonate soda and a little drop of water. Rubbing this in should lift the stains off.

Or soaking in a bicarb solution overnight. Excellent with stained flasks also.
It sounds I liitle risky but some watered down bleach pour ed into it does the trick, leave it for a while and it will be like new inside. Just make sure your wash it a couple of time swith warm soapy water after so there is no smell or residue.
i use salt, slightly damp, it gets it off a treat, it acts like sandpaper.
When my teapot gets badly tea stained I put a couple of tablespoons of soap powder with hot water and leave overnight.
Old fashioned bleach and a scouring pad - use rubber gloves if you're the sensitive type.
Bleach is good - just wash it well after
