Ghosts

Have you ever seen a ghost, and if so what did it look like, where do you think it came from - and were you afraid? I'd be interested to hear your experiences.

Thank you! We did indeed go back to that caravan on several other occasions, and nothing similar ever happened there again, although things like that have happened at other places, always when my friend and I are alone together. We never know what will set it off, or even what this thing is that comes after us (we are pretty certain that it is the same thing each time), or why. It's just one of those mysteries of life, which terrifies us at the time but makes a good conversation starter afterwards!

And well done on walking out on your husband - possessed or not there's never an excuse for violence!

Fairkatrina, I suppose thinking about it logically, this 'thing' doesn't 'come after you', in as much as it hurts you physically - it just frightens the daylights out of you, so I wonder if it is actually capable of harming you? Perhaps it's not as powerful as it would like you to think because when you pluck up the courage to be unafraid, it backs down. A bit like a bully really. Have you ever tried telling it to go away?

Have you actually seen it, or a shadow of it, or is it just a 'presence'?

It comes when you and your friend are together. Do you think it's especially connected to one or the other of you? It sounds more like it's connected to your friend as it's him who changes his appearance. Has it ever happened to him when you weren't around?

Ghosts are supposed to be the spiritual part of us left over when we die. Is this true?
the Bible say NO.
(ECCLESIASTES 9:5-6) �For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. 6�Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they have no portion anymore to time indefinite in anything that has to be done under the sun.�

Jesus had access to the Old Testament and never denied this scripture.
So there are no ghosts.
But what do people see? And what haunts houses?
It is demons, those angels who chose to follow Satan.
And they have no desire to do any of us any good.
they follow their leaders attitude [ satan's]
(REVELATION 12:12) �On this account be glad, YOU heavens and YOU who reside in them! Woe for the earth and for the sea, because the Devil has come down to YOU, having great anger, knowing he has a short period of time.��

Anger with US.

pugwashjw, I'll refer back to my post to Theland on this thread. Jesus spoke to Moses, who was dead (Deut. 34:5). Was the ghost of Moses a demon?

Hello naomi, From reading the experience about your sister,it seems as though she was acting as a sort of guardian, helping you out when need be.
The only other person I've heard with stories similar to yours was a work friend who had to move a number of times because of the strange goings on in his houses.
Which makes you think that the either the entities are connected to the person or maybe they are more receptive to spirit activity. With my work friend though; Both him and his wife saw the ghosts. On one occasion he'd only just come home from work, opened the front door and there was an old man sitting on his stairs. It obviously startled him and he said, "What the hell(or words to that affect) are you doing in my house?" The old man just vaporised into nothing.

Sorry if some of my writing went a bit funny in that last post.
I've just read fairkatrina's story. That is mind-blowing to say the least. It almost sounds like a malevolent spirit is jealous of the friendship.
As you said, it would be interesting to see if the spirit is still prevalent when apart.
An absolutely incredible but terrifying story.

Luna, I also think my sister was there taking care of me and my mum - like a guardian I suppose. Your friend didn't recognise the ghost then? If we live in a parallel universe, perhaps some ghosts don't even know we're there. They're literally in a world of their own!

Fender, I've heard that film theory before. Who knows?

No naomi, My friend had never seen the old man before either in physical or ghostly form.
Needless to say, him and his wife didn't stay in the house for too long. It seems strange, almost as if the spirit dimension/world or whatever it is opens up for some people but they obviously have no control over it.

Hi Luna, So they never saw him again? Maybe it's as you say - perhaps sometimes the two worlds just intermingle.

Hello again, nothing like that has ever happened to either of us when we are alone, only when it is just the two of us alone together. It made living together and going on holiday a little more interesting though!

i used to live in an old victorian house and i heard things moving around on several occasions when i was in the house on my own. one night i woke up with the feeling that someone was pressing down on me. it felt really malevolent and although all i could see was a dark humanish shadow it felt like a male presence.

needless to say i didn't stay living there for much longer, but in that time i felt this once more, and my boyf experienced it on our last night in the house. good riddance!

Such an interesting thread that I am sad about not having any experience to share... my mum seems to be the one who is capable of seeing things, hearing them... anyway, for the ones who feel afraid, don't you think we should be more afraid (if we have to be) of the live than of the dead?
Except for Katrina's story, all the experiences here were either good, or neutral (not good, not bad, but harmless) and I really think when I see the news, that humans alive are getting so mad, unpredictable and... dangerous!!!
