Well, often at work we might have a "coffee" opportunity. Someone offers to go get you a coffee. Or you are passing the canteen and need a hot drink. And coffee is better in the morning, and tea in the afternoon! As a lecturer, I speak all day, and a hot drink can really help. HOWEVER I have no desire to fill my system with caffeine and get some nasty fake high from chemicals. So I have decaff. I also buy decaff tea and gave up diet coke about 3 years ago. I don't miss caffeine one bit- I've never liked the thought of a drug speeding up my system. I'm happy on go slow- I value my blood pressure!
Kitten, I have the exact same problem with the bladder irritation, and I find there is little taste difference in decaf tea or coffee. I think people just don't realise what other effects caffeine has on the body apart from stimulating the brain. Unfortunately not all of us have a choice as to whether to drink decaf or not, regardless of whether it is meant to be worse for you.
