does altering the exhaust by puting a muffler affect the fuel consumption considerably and what is the work of a dump valve?

your exhaust system already has mufflers in it but in this country the're called silencers. the dump valve releases excess boost pressure from the turbocharger.

If the wastegate valve (dump valve) was not present to control the maximum boost pressure, there is a risk of premature detonation of the fuel mix through pressure.
