lately i went to thepolice because i was hit by a lorry who sped off i was most annoyed as i had my two babies in the car at the time. fortunately we werent hurt and the car has only a scrape. but unfortunately i have found out that my husband who usualy insures my car aswell as taking care of the usual bills for the last 23 years did not have it insured. can anyone tell me the implications of this as i am the innisent party here many thanks.
I am glad that your two babies were not hurt, however as the previous post said you cannot rely on someone else to make sure something is insured and I wonder how long it had not been insured, it seems odd that he has paid everything for 23 years and then suddenly you find yourself uninsured. So although it may seem as if you are innocent, in fact it was you driving without insurance and that could have had far more horrific consequences if there had been a fatality or something. I do sympathise however as I am sure many of us 'assume' that the other half has paid things, but it is certainly no defence in law.
yes i know guys, i thought if i posted it here then mabey i would hear better news, but, however i was wrong, oh well better look on the bright side, it could have been worse, and as far as my husband goes, is leaving me in future to take care of my own insurance.
lady-p-gold= 0f course! how stupid! i have been so nieve all these years, i do wonder.
however thanks all.
ps
my advice dont trust anybody !
