E-mails
Help! I can receive e-mails using Outlook Express but can't send them!
Each time I click on the "SEND" button, there's a 10-15 second delay and then I receive the following error message, which I don't understand :-
The connection to the Server has failed, Account: 'pop.freeserve.com', Server: 'smtp.freeserve.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10051, Error Number 0x800CCC0E
What does this mean, why's this happening and what do I have to do to be able to send e-mails?
(No technowizard speak please!)
Thanks in advance :-)

Yes, I have tried it on occasions and sometimes, though I must say not always, it does work.
However, I would like to know what this error message means and why it appears, why the e-mails won't send and how ongoing I can send messages without having to turn off my computer!
Anyone help, please!

Could this be your problem ?

Seems it can happen when you are using MSN and also Outlook to send to a NON-MSN mail server at the same time (are you doing that ?)
Seems MSN does not allow you to use another SMTP network when logged on to MSN.

Have you installed or changed a firewall recently?
Have you installed a router with a firewall?
In Outlook Express under "Accounts" goto the Mail tab and double click on your mail account. This will bring up the properties. Choose the server tab and ensure that you have check in the "My Server Requires Authentication" at the bottom of the screen.
