Renault Megane 1.4 starting problems
Hi, I am asking this question for a friend! He has a Renault Megane 1.4, R Reg.
Today we was going to town when his petrol light came on, so we went to the petrol station and topped up 5.. when he got back in and put the key in the ignition, he turnt the key and nothing, there was no engine sound what so ever! We had to get our friend to tow us home.
Does anybody know the problem?? if so, please do write your answers!!

if you put your hand down the back and then under the engine, from the passenger side, you will find a load of leads(not to your distributer) even lower.
these leads are known to rust/chorode (info from an AA engineer)
This stops your car starting. Sorry i can't give you more details, but as you can guess i'm no engine expert.
but what i found is that every time my car died on me, i just reached down and moved the cables, then hey presto, car started.
Do Not buy a new battery!!! theres probably no need!
