lightweight laptop

is there a laptop with a 15" screen at less than 2 kg? I dont mind if it doesnt have a built in CD/dvd player.

Thaks, yes, I have seen taht. I was hoping to get something lighter. I know it sounds crazy, but do you know if you can take our the built in DVD drvie from laptops? Do you know how much weight that will save?

You can remove the drive from your laptop, but how much weight it will save I don't know. I think they are lightweight, flimsy things.

Most of the weight comes from the screen.

You need to google for the repair manual of your particular laptop to find how to remove the drive.

The MacBook Pro weighs in at 2.5Kg, with all the bells and whistles too.

Otherwise, for ligher ones look at ones with smaller screens: Macbook.
