Why do 'old' people smell funny?

Even when they have just had a shower they have a strange smell about them.

Why? And what can we do to stop them stinking?

a possible answer.........
a real reason why older people may smell of pee - is that they may have some infection in the bladder which is a common reason that their pee will smell very strong - you know the kind of smell when you enter their home and it smells like a mens urinal - I know this is probably a boring answer but its real and is often the reason that older people smell strongly of wee - we think they haven't changed their underwear for days but in actual fact they are probably very clean but are suffering from an infection 'down below ' which gives their urine a stonger, more pungent smell.

i find it may because of my rubber pantyhose it tends to sweat oh and the occasional dribble of urine it comes to us all someday but there is nothing like smelling ones own fart dont you think ?

honkey-tonk, do you speak from experience about old people's farts or do they smell different?

The whole 'funny smell' thing wasn't about that ***** smell that lots of old people have.

The smell I mean, which is mainly on men, is like a waxy stale smell. I just cannot work out where it comes from. It smells a bit like a woolly jumper that you haven't washed (because it's hand wash only) but you've worn loads of times but can't anymore because its taken on 'the smell'!!

Think, for me, this will have to remain one of life's mysteries.

It was someone with a similar name to yours that made me notice the smell.... so maybe it's not an 'old person' smell, it could just be a smelly name.... lol!

However, I doubt you're ever likely to go anywhere that I go....... so I don't need to worry. !
