Just seen this movie, and what a fantastic film it was too. I am not massively up to date with the movie world but why did this pass me by. I can recall no cinema release, yet it knocks the spots off all the high-tech cr4p one is subjected to nowadays.
If you haven't seen it, may I make a rare suggestion and do so. It may be repeated on Film4, but is selling fairly cheap on various sites.
Splendid British film about an unhinged soldier seeking revenge on his spastic brother's tormenters.
I gree Joe great film, it was made by British film maker Shane Meadows, who originates from the midlands, another film of his "Once Upon A Time In The Midlands" is due on Film 4 anytime now, it is well worth a look, his films are becoming a bit of a cult now. if you tap his name into google , you will get all the info about his films. which are all exellent.
Dead Man's Shoes is a brilliant film. I really like Shane Meadows, he's a brilliant director. I encourage you to look out for another film called A Room For Romeo Brass that also has Paddy Considine in it. Brilliant!
I also watch the South Bank Show but missed that they spoilt the ending to This Is England. -Thank god. I really look forward to seeing that film.
as above i would also recommend room for romeo brass and also twentyfour seven (24/7) by shane meadows, starring bob hoskins bruce jones (les battersby) and loads of british soap stars.
shane meadows is a legend.
one of the most underated directors around.
