Anyone else remember the old cream and brown Bero cookery book? I must have cooked every recipe in it when i was first married - many mooms ago. I wish i had kept it. The coloures ones were fine but not as nostalgic as the originals. I also had the Girl Guide cookery book, i can still see the illustrations in my head.

A blast from the past! My mum had a colour one in the early seventies and used to make Quiche Lorraine - my dad insisted on calling it Egg and Bacon Pie!
I used to make biscuits from a recipe in it

I still have mine (which was my Mum's ) ..the one with the girl in the gymslip on the front and the family sitting round the table on the back.I have got the new one but still refer to the old dog eared one all the time for cakes and pastry. Not that I do much of that these days but it has saved the day for me many a time especially when I had to make cakes and buns years ago for school fetes and stuff !
Hi everyone.
Like you shaneystar, I still have one which also belonged to my Mum and I still use it. I also have the coloured one too. Some of the pages are stuck with icing .
