A couple of times this week I've read comments, on TV text letters pages, on the lines of who should be the new Dr Who. There seems to be some implication that a new one might be needed. Can anyone enlighten me, as I'm sure I've not read or heard anything to suggest David Tennant is thinking of leaving.
I think one of the papers recently suggested that Tennant was thinking of leaving, implying that it would be at the end of the next series.
All the other comments I have read would suggest this was just a paper looking for a story, and basing it on an interview Tennant gave ages ago, saying he would stay in the role for 3-4 series or something like that.
There is an interview with David Tennant in the latest issue of Doctor Who Monthly and quoted on the BBC Doctor Who homepage. On this he says,
"I think I know how many series I'm going to do,and Russell,Julie and I have talked about it,and will continue to talk about it,but I think it would be stupid of me to say more than that right now - anything can happen, and everything can change..."
I know that's not very enlightening, but at least it's his words.I hope he stays a while longer.
