washing machine

I am having problems with my washing machine, whenever I hit the start button nothing happens, it sometimes works when I open and shut the door a few times so I think it may be something to do with the door lock, anybody any ideas.

This sometimes happens with my machine too. It is quite an old one. I just nudge the door with my knee (probably the same as your method of opening and shutting the door several times) and then it works OK. It may be worth getting an engineer in to check the door lock - doesn't sound like an expensive job?
