Im so self concsious

Hi, im 16 and whenever I am around alot of people I dont know very well and around alot of girls I get so self concsious. Even just walking down the street I cant lift my head up im just so shy! In front of real real good friends I am fine, loud and have fun. But say a girl was next to me I get so shy and self concsious I come across really boring and I only say yes and no lol. In my head im thinking, I MUST SEEM A RIGHT PRAT, WHAT IF I SMELL, WHAT IF .....etc etc. It is really annoying me, to the point i avoid going places with people and am spending to much time on my own and at home. Any help? Thanks. I hate being shy! PS, is there ANY shy girls or anything out there cos all girls to me seem SO CONFIDENT! I feel im never ever gona have a good relationship!

If you're shy just ask them questions, women love talking about themselves. You'll soon get talking once they're warmed up a bit and you know a bit more about them. If you're smiling and nodding and letting them talk about themselves they automatically will associate talking to you with being happy and then it's smooth sailing from there on in.

But even just infront of everyone not just girls. I always try to avoid speaking to people, like when i say Hi to someone im thinking, "I bet i sounded stupid then" or something like that.

Do you have a Drama teacher at school? Ask if he or she has any notes on stage fright.

lol, i suppose i will just have to put myself in more situations, like in crowds and get talkin to people more. Its the only way im gona get more confident. Otherwise ill be like this all my life LOL and that wouldent be good!

Confidence will come - screechboy is right, ask questions about what they like to do - that goes for getting on with boys as well as girls. Really listen to the answers, everybody loves a good listener - my brother in law is nothing particular to look at, but when he speaks to people, he really listens to them - women think that he is very sexy, and he has no trouble getting gilfriends - this is despite losing his hair and being missing a front tooth! lol.

Quick tip for walking more confidently, as you are walking, think about the back of your knees - I know it sounds mental, but it works! Try it - you can't walk with your head down when you do it.
