hi,
does anyone know if there are any severe side effects of continuing to take your contraceptive pill if you are unknowingly pregnant?
Thanks x

This might not be the answer you were after but it may be useful. My pregnancy wasn't planned; hubby was going away and we got caught up in "the moment", I took the emergency contraceptive pill within 48hrs of unprotected sex.
I am now 34 weeks pregnant and everything is fine; all my scans showed baby to be healthy. My midwife said that it is unlikely that hormones would cause lasting damage.
I hope this helps.

Hi alijangra,
No i'm not on that. I am on Microgynon. I have been taking them every day since i was 15 (im now 21), so i guess it has been in my system for a very long time.
I dont really know whats in them so i'm a bit worried if i ever did fall pregnant one day without knowing so i continue to keep taking my pills, and it damages the baby?
