Personally I have had both and found them both good as pets. So long as you handle them lots, give them loads of love and kisses, either will make great pets :o)

I still have my female, had to have my male pts back in April and I was heartbroken :o(

Prepare to have your heart stolen (along with socks, pens, bags, anything you leave lying around really lol)

Also don't be put off by Albino's, mine have all been albinos and they make just a good a pet as polecats, sandys etc.

I used to run a ferret rescue service and kept up to 50 ferrets at a time!!

Personally I preferred the males (hobs) but generally only because they were bigger, they can also be more smelly!!

I had some great females (jills) the colour is irrelevant as all have great characters, if you have a jill you will need to let it have a litter or it could go down with pyometra and you could lose your ferret.

Feed it on James wellbeloved ferret food or fresh meat ie: rabbit!! not dog or cat food. A little cod liver oil once a week including a drop in each ear and its coat will shine and the drop in the ear will keep the ear mites away and they absolutely love cod liver oil!!!

do not give it bread and milk !!

Get one of each, get the hob vasectomized so he can bring the jill out of season thus preventing pyometra and they will play together endlessly!!
