I am currently suffering really badly from Hayfever, which started on Saturday (its always June, July and August when I suffer). Does anyone know of any remedies that will relieve the symptoms, when I get it really bad I end up having to go to bed!! i have been taking antihistimines since start of March and also my uncle has suggested I have a spoon ful of locally produced honey every day. Any ideas?
My hay fever usually starts the first week in May but it started late this year.
As in Friday just gone i have for the past 3 years taken Cetirizine 10 mg (Cetirizine Dihydrochloride). I get mine off the doctor as im sure you cant buy them over the counter. I used to suffer from it bad but these tablets are the best for me. And they work straight away
Hope you feel better soon as i no how it feels
Hi sam182 , the pollen count is particularly high at present , especially the grass pollens . I take Benadryl which work for me for the most part . Maybe try a different antihistamine that may work better for you . All the best .:-)
Rub a little Vaseline inside your nose as this helps also if you take your holidays abroad take them in June Or July as I find the systems go away in a another country. Dark Sunglasses also help me
Hi
I've had hayfever for years and have tried everything to get rid of it.
The only thing I can find that does me any good is Cetrizine Dihydrochloride (known as Zirtek) but I get it from Sainsburys or Tesco (where they are rebranded as "own brand" hayfever and allergy relief) as it works out cheaper than getting it on prescription (It is 87p for 7 tablets that you take one a day) http://www.tesco.com/superstore/xpi/7/xpi56566 517.htm
The other thing that helps me is snorting water up my nose and blowing it out! Sounds disgusting but it clears the pollen out of my nose and stops me from sneezing as much!
My hayfever started with a vengence last weeked too.
(grass pollen).
I have an antihistamine each day, but I also use Tesco hayfever nasal spray morning and evening, which I cant do without as it gives me such relief from runny itchy nose.
My problem at the moment is itchy eyes, so I will go with the suggestion of eyedrops. Will buy some tomorrow.
