Is it just me or do you do this?
16 Answers
Yesterday I bought "The Interpretation of Murder" to start reading this morning. Beforehad, though, I scrupulously peeled off the stickers that said "Winner: Richard and Judy's Bookclub" and "Buy one get one half price" (WH Smith's - not a bad offer).
I suddenly realised that i do this with all the books I buy -for some reason that I can't explain I hate books to have stickers or any kind of marking on the front. I like them to be as nature (or in this case the publisher!) intended, as it were.
Now, is this just me? Am I just being terribly an*l about this? Or do you do the same?

Oh yes, the smell of a new book is fantastic!
I'm happy to read second hand books and am a frequent browser and buyer at the Oxfam down the road from where I work but there is something very special about opening up an uncreased, paper perfect new book!
I have never actually seen Richard and Judy's 'bookclub' - I auume it's a segment on their programme. Do you think they read them themselves or someone else does on their behalf and advises them on ahat they think would be a good "Dick 'n' Jude" book!?
