Lucy Locket - childhood party game
5 Answers
Can anyone complete the rhyme for me - Lucy Locket lost her pocket, Kitty Fisher found it - I remember playing it at parties as a child some forty years ago, but can't remember the actual game, what we did and how the rhyme finished. I believe we all played it in a circle

He referrs to a different rhyming game that went something like " A tisket, a tasket, a green and yellow basket. I wrote a letter to my love and on the way I dropped it, I dropped it , I dropped it, and on the way I dropped it. You found it, you found it and put it in your pocket.
Playing in a circle one person traveled around the circle tapping each participant on the head or shoulder asking was it you? or stating it was or was not you until choosing a player they suspect has the letter. That person chases the first around the circle, trying to catch them before reaching the empty spot. If caught the chosen player sings the rhym and chooses a new suspect.
It has been 55 years since i played the game and believe my memory serves correct. If not I am sorry but it was a good game.
As to a Lucy Locket game, I do not recall one. Only the rhyme
